HABC Level 2 Certificate
Providing Security Services (QCF)
The HABC Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services has been accredited by the regulators of England, Wales and Northern Ireland (Ofqual, DfES and CCEA) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by Skills for Security, the Sector Skills Body for the security industry.
The HABC Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services is designed for those working in the security industry.
There are four possible pathways that learners can follow:
- General
- CCTV
- Static and Patrol Guarding
- Door Supervision
It provides the competency component of the Providing Security Services Apprenticeship.
For those learners undertaking the Providing Security Services Apprenticeship, a workbook has been designed by Skills for Security for centres to download free of charge to cover the Employment Rights and Responsibilities. This can be found on the Skills for Security website This workbook forms part of the Providing Security Services apprenticeship. It helps the learner to understand their rights and responsibilities as a person employed in the Providing Security Services sector.
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
The Providing Security Services Apprenticeship states that PLTS must be assessed as part of the framework achievement. In order to show how the PLTS have been achieved, it is suggested that Assessors use the PLTS Matrix document listing where the evidence can be found.This document can be downloaded from the Skills for Security website.
Most of the PLTS are covered within the mandatory units of the Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services. The remaining PLTS are covered within the ERR workbook.
